Fifty years ago, when Shihan Hennie Bosman attended his first Karate class he had no idea what a remarkable impact it would have on his life.

In 1975 he opened his first dojo and in 1978 he opened dojos in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Shihan Bosman is the Chairman of Kyokushin-kan Africa, this includes over 30 000 karateka from 10 countries in Africa.

Over the last 40 years, it has been calculated that Shihan Bosman has had approximately 15 000 students.

HIGHLIGHTS:

Winning the World Senior Karate Championship in Osaka Japan in 2001

CELEBRATIONS:

There are a number of special occasions arranged to celebrate this anniversary.

One of which will be Kancho Royama will be visiting our shores in May, this will be a tremendous occasion.

A Gala Dinner as well as a Golf Day. We look forward to our International Camp in Stellenbosch in May and Provincial and National Tournaments.

Sensei Akio Chinone will visit the Welgemoed Dojo from end February till March for training.

Shihan Bosman will also attend the Instructors Camp in Japan from the 6-8 March with top instructors from across the world

We look forward to Kyokushin’s inclusion in the 2024 Olympic Games.
